Increasing Demand for PCR

One of the primary obstacles for recyclers is the cyclical nature of pricing. Recycled resin has historically been seen as a cost saving decision. As virgin resin got cheaper, manufacturers would rather work with the easier material and not with PCR. This drop in demand for recycled resin would cause recyclers to go out of business.

Large swings in PCR pricing is no longer going to be the case. Increased sustainability commitments from businesses and government legislation are creating a demand floor that makes the economics of recycling work.
